“All of us need a helping hand sometimes. I just love doing charitable work and I get so much out of it. It is absolutely a two way street.
I wouldn’t say I am doing something for someone; we mutually get some joy and satisfaction out of it. I would always rather do someone a favour, than not. I think we can pass favours around – it’s a sign of goodwill.
If I can do something for someone then they can do something for someone else. We don’t have to be competitive, we should all share what we have got. There are a lot of good guys here at the Royal Hospital, there are a lot of guys who don’t make a fuss about anything but behind closed doors they are doing their bit and I’m just doing what they do.”
