Making an impact together 

The staff at John D Wood have not only been raising the profile of the Chelsea Pensioners, they have been raising funds for the Royal Hospital in a range of impressive ways.

Russell Williamson and Sophie Leigh-Bankes completed a mammoth sponsored bike ride raising more than £2,200 between them. Russell cycled 300 miles from Chelsea to Land’s End while Sophie cycled to Paris in only 24 hours.

Sophie Deedes, together with some of her colleagues, enjoyed a day at the show jumping with Chelsea Pensioners at the Longines Global Champions tour.

Staff from across London took part in a 24 hour bike-a-thon alongside Chelsea Pensioners, raising over £3,000 on the day.

The partnership raised a further £2,000 through an exclusive Royal Hospital hosted quiz night in the Chelsea Pensioners Club. The Pensioners proved that the wisdom of advanced years can overcome youth and enthusiasm and narrowly triumphed on the night!
