On 29 October, our Deputy Matron Gail St Juste-Alcide attended the prestigious Nursing Times awards at the Grosvenor Hotel, as a judge for the new Social Care in Nursing award.

This year a new garden was successfully installed in Salisbury Court, the private courtyard within the Margaret Thatcher Infirmary.

Like the rest of the country, the Chelsea Pensioners are looking forward to the easing of lockdown restrictions starting this week. Almost all the Pensioners have now had their second vaccinations and infection rates and serious cases of Covid-19 are on the decline in the area. 

Senior staff nurse Gail St Juste Alcide says that the dementia ward’s Christmas celebrations will be as joyful as ever, despite the pandemic. 

The Royal Hospital’s Matron and Registered Manager, Susan Williams, has been a key part of our community for 10 years, so both Pensioners and staff are very sad to say goodbye to her.
