The Royal Hospital achieves Outstanding status as a care provider

5th December 2016

The Royal Hospital has received the highest rating of OUTSTANDING from the official regulator of health and social care in England.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) published its latest report on our services in November and assessed them as being 'outstanding caring, responsive and well-led'.

These services include the Margaret Thatcher Infirmary (care home with nursing), the medical centre and our domiciliary care service. The report goes on to say: 'We saw that staff treated people with respect and kindness, and promoted their dignity and independence. People told us staff were incredibly kind and compassionate which had a positive impact on their lives.'

Director of Health and Wellbeing at the Royal Hospital, Colonel Laura Bale, has said: “I am delighted that we have received such an accolade for the services we provide. This recognises the team work and commitment from all staff dedicated to the care and wellbeing of the Chelsea Pensioners.”
